After tucking Jasmine in, I went into Shayden's room and sat by his bed. Noticing me, he put Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, turned to his side facing me and said, " Hey Dad." I asked, "Were you listening to that story I was telling Jasmine?" He replied, " Yes." "It's a good story huh", I said. He said, " Yeah". Then he asked, " Dad...why didn't the others say thank you. I told him that I thought it was because they forgot. "God blesses us with food, family, homes, for these men, they were sick and Jesus healed them, and we simply just foget to say Thank You." "Do YOU believe God answers prayers Dad?" he asked. I smiled and told him, "ABSOLUTELY!" "Shayden......YOU'RE an answered prayer. Daddy has always wanted a family, and you were our first born. So yes I do believe God answers prayers.", I shared, "And I always try to remember to Thank him when he does or even when he doesn't." We went back to the story and spoke to him a little bit more and then asked him if HE believed that God answered prayers. He said, "Yeah...I do." Another proud and moving moment for me.
I tucked him in, gave him a hug, and kissed him on the top of his head, as I always do and told him how much I loved him. I love you Shayden!
